“Howl-o-Ween” Tournament Rules

  1. General
    1. The tournament is scheduled for Saturday, October 27th, 2007. Every effort will be made to play games as scheduled, however, it may be necessary to reschedule or shorten games. Coaches will be notified as soon as possible about cancellations or schedule changes.
    2. The tournament is being conducted for the enjoyment of the players. The goal of the tournament committee is for players, coaches, and spectators to have a safe and enjoyable experience. We expect all involved to show the highest standard of sportsmanship.
    3. All games will be played in accordance with FIFA laws, except as specifically superseded by these rules.
    4. All decisions of the referee and the tournament committee are final. There will be no protests or appeals.
    5. Neither the tournament committee, the Rockaway Township Soccer Association, nor any sponsor will be liable for any expenses incurred by tournament participants if the tournament is cancelled for any reason.
    6. If, in the opinion of the tournament director, the conduct of any team, its coach/coaches or supporters does not meet the standards of sportsmanship appropriate for youth soccer, the team may be barred from further participation in the tournament.
  2. Tournament format
    1. Each team will play two games.
    2. Each game will consist of two 25 minute halves, with a five minute half-time. There will be no time allowance for injuries or other compensating time.
    3. Unlimited substitution is permitted, with permission of the referee, for either team at the beginning of a half, on a goal kick or after a goal is scored, or for the team in possession during a throw-in.
    4. The home team is the first team listed on the schedule for that particular game. The home team will change jerseys if the referee deems it necessary.
    5. Parents and spectators must be on the opposite side of the field from the players.
    6. Any player or coach who receives a RED CARD will be barred from further participation in this tournament. Any team receiving a RED CARD must re-register with tournament officials before playing its next scheduled game. The tournament committee will have the option to impose a more severe penalty.
    7. This is a U8, U9, and U10 tournament only. Scores and standings will not be recorded or posted.
    8. Individual awards (tournament t-shirts AND patches) will be given to all players.
    9. Ties will stand.  No shootouts or tiebreakers.

3.    Cancellation Policy

    In accordance with NJYSA mandate, if our tournament is cancelled before any games are played, 80% ($180.00) will be refunded to each accepted team. The reason for cancellation could be due to inclement weather, poor field conditions or sponsoring organization management decision.

4.       Golf Cart Policy

                  You must have a valid New Jersey Drivers License to operate a golf cart at tournaments.
